Precision Nib Remover developed

by Eureka_Admin

There have been frequent requests regarding removal of the nib.

since the ebonite feeder and nib is friction fitted, it is not easy to remove the nib.

the tightness of the fit ensures stable setting of "the nib point alignment & nib slit thickness alignment."

so, making the fit looser is not really a good solution.

therefore, i decided to make a tool, so that eureka users can remove the nib easily and safely.

the tool consists of:

1. pin guide

2. pusher pin

*material: PEEK (super-engineering plastic / Germany)

these are high precision parts.

the difference in diameter of the pin and the hole is approximately 0.03mm.

smaller than this, the pin could get stuck due to a lack of tolerance.

the high precision ensures the pin stay perfectly perpendicular to the striking surface (the end surface of the ebonite feeder)

if the two striking surfaces are not perpendicular / flat, damage can occur to the end surface of the ebonite feeder.

how to use:

1) install the pin guide onto the grip section (screw it on)

2) insert the push pin

3) there are two ways to apply striking force:

   - strike the round part onto a wooden plate (do not strike on a desk, because the desk surface could get dented)

   - strike the round part with a rectacular wooden stick / a wooden block (do not use metallic object, it could damage the tool)

4) the push pin will push out the nib & feeder by 4~5mm. this will loosen up the friction fit.

proceed to remove the nib & feeder without the tool (it will be easy to remove).
